• A 2018 study by Rutgers found that, when compared to cis/het students, more LGBTQ college students reported that their campus was safe and secure, or even inviting.

▪ 85.7% of the heterosexual students agreed
▪ 50% of non-heterosexual students agreed

◦ When posed with the question of, “Students of my gender identity are respected on this campus”:
▪ 65.2% of cisgender students agreed
▪ 30.8% of TGNC students agreed

• 2018 Study by the HRC Foundation and University of Connecticut:
◦ 27% of LGBTQ+ Youth can “Definitely” be themselves in school
◦ Only 26% of LGBTQ youth report that they “always feel safe in the classroom”
